This photo of the week comes from spaceinvader65 on Instagram. It’s a nice composition but is also a well observed rare moment – a central London tube station without people or litter. What I really like is that it’s one of a series (see some of his other benches below).

You can see more of his instagram images here but what you really need to see is his clunkydoodles instagram here or at clunkydoodles.com

photo of the week

I’m going to cheat this week (my page, my rules to break!) and share two of my favourites from the instagram of talented writer/director, Laura Evers Johns. I see she’s just added some lovely skies too (https://instagram.com/lauraeversjohns/). Thanks Laura.

We were on a beautiful walk in the Berkshire countryside when I paused to take this picture. There's always something about a pathway or course to the horizon that beckons – it feels like a call to adventure. I love bleak industrial landscapes too, and there's a little something of that about this.

My mum was holding an exhibition of her woodblock prints with some artist friends in a scenic studio, surrounded by the loveliest garden. It was close to magic hour when I took this photo – and the garden really did seem enchanted, somehow.
